Applications of Spectrophotometer

1. Measure Dye Strength;

By using a spectrophotometer, the dyes stored in the basic database can be used as standards to compare the power of newly purchased dyes,

thereby providing the percentage of newly purchased dye power compared to the standard dye power.

Based on the numbers provided by the computer, the formula used in production can be adjusted to ensure dyeing quality.

2. Determine Whether the Product or Sample is Qualified;

Whether products or small samples can be put into large-scale production, based on product design or customer requirements, the spectrophotometer can accurately and quickly determine.

3. Measure the Color Difference, Fading Fastness, Color Fastness, Yellowing, Whiteness, Brightness, etc.

At present, we use gray cards to determine the color difference of fabrics, and divides the color difference into 5 levels with an accuracy of 0.5 level.

Due to the reliance on manual observation and the varying sensitivity of individuals to color,

as well as the non-standard and frequently changing light sources, there are often differences in the determination of color difference levels.

By utilizing the color measurement function of a spectrophotometer, the color difference between fabrics can be accurately compared.

Generally speaking, when the color difference value (Δ E) is less than 0.5, the human eye cannot distinguish the color difference,

while the spectrophotometer detects small differences that are difficult for the human eye to distinguish.

Similarly, a spectrophotometer can accurately measure the fading fastness, color fastness, yellowing, whiteness, brightness, and other properties of fabrics.
